RWIS Services

As of 2004, there were over 1400 Road Weather Information System (RWIS) stations across the country. Increasing urban and rural congestion and a nationwide push for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) has placed an emphasis on reliable RWIS data. Recent advances in RWIS technology and aging RWIS stations dating back to the early 1980s have created a need for cost effective upgrade and repair.

NorthWest Weathernet provides many Road Weather Information System (RWIS) services supporting new and existing RWIS networks. We started out with preventative maintenance on the Utah DOT RWIS network in 2006. Since then, our technicians have gained the necessary knowledge to work with several vendors including Campbell Scientific, Vaisala and Surface Systems Inc (SSI). We can provide routine preventative maintenance, response maintenance and instrument installation. Additional services include:
